ABOUT THE TRIP

They say the furthest distance that exists in the world is the distance from your head to your heart. Though they are so close in proximity, many times it feels like they are infinitely separated in disagreement. Instinctively, deep in our hearts we all know that there is more to life than what meets the eye, yet our restless souls wage war as most search to fill this space with countless things the world has to offer. While all creation might be pointing to a Creator, most people will spend the majority of the lives without ever learning the fullness of who that Creator is.

We were so excited to visit friends in South America and it was an honor to serve side by side with the goal of reaching the skate community in Brazil. For several years we talked about linking up with our friend, Carlos Ribeiro to do some ministry together in his home town in Brazil. It took us a few years to get the schedules to line up but getting to spend this time together, hear his story, and to get to share the Gospel through multiple skate contests was such a blessing to say the least.

Boasting over 2,000 public skateparks and a population of 8,500,000+ skaters, it's no wonder Brazil has mass produced some of the world's best skateboarders! Since 2010, we have traveled the world and hosted thousands of events with the goal of sharing the Gospel through events just like the ones we hosted in Brazil. Through this trip it quickly became evident that Brazil has more opportunities for ministry than we can even fathom! We were so moved to hear Carlos’ story and how the simple obedience of how a friend and fellow skater shared the Good News with him and as a result his life was changed forever.

Knowing and believing that as Paul wrote in Romans 10, “How can they call on God if they don’t believe in Him and how can they believe in Him if they’ve never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them. For faith comes by hearing the Word of God”, we are more motivated than ever before to continue doing all that we can to bring the Good News of Jesus to the ENDS of the earth . . . until EVERY ear has heard.

PRAYER REQUESTS
& LONGTERM VISION

The harvest is so plentiful as the number of individuals involved in the action sports community in Brazil is more than we can even fathom. There are over 2,000 public skateparks and they say they are building at least one new skatepark every month! The population of the skate community is over 8,500,000+ individuals and this doesn’t even include the countless other action sports enthusiast and/or other sports that exist in this Country.

We are praying that the Lord would open the doors for us to establish a permanent home base for Ride Nature in South America to focus on deeper training, discipleship, and multiplication of leaders in this part of the world. Through this home base we would launch a discipleship program, business as mission training, and a church planting residency program, all with the goal of seeing action sports continue to be utilized as a tool for outreach, evangelism, and discipleship.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

A HUGE SHOUT OUT AND SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE THAT TRAVELED WITH US ON THIS TRIP, THOSE THAT GAVE FINANCES TO HELP MAKE THIS TRIP POSSIBLE, AND THE LEADERSHIP ON THE GROUND THAT IS FAITHFULLY SERVING IN BRAZIL. WITHOUT YOU AND THE CONSISTENT FOLLOW UP AFTER THE MINISTRY LED AND EVENTS HOSTED, WE WOULD HAVE NO ONE TO WATER THE SEEDS THAT WERE PLANTED. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER AND HONORED TO LINK ARMS WITH OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS AROUND THE WORLD TO MAKE THE NAME OF JESUS KNOWN!

TO THE ENDS
